First Day at NCC
Where to go – What to do – What to bring

No need for first day nerves when you’re all set to go! To help you be prepared for your first day at NCC, we’ve outlined here: where to go, what to do and what to bring.
Where to go
If your first day is the first day of the school year, please go to your known classroom, which will have been confirmed to you via email, to meet your teacher. If you do not know what classroom your child will be in, these will be displayed outside of the Student Reception area for Middle & Senior School students and for Junior School parents, we ask that you go directly to the Junior School office.
On the first day of school, students will meet their teachers in all of their subject areas if in Middle/Senior School as well as library and café staff.
Prep students will all meet in the designated Prep area. On the first day, they will meet their teacher, fellow students as well as teacher aides. They will also meet specialist teachers in:
- Physical Education
- Music
- Language
Check the Campus Map to find classrooms.
If your first day is outside of the first few days of school:
- Junior School families – please go directly to the Junior School Reception.
- Middle & Senior School families – please go to the College Reception to meet the Registrar, who will arrange for your child to be taken to their classroom to meet their teacher and class.
What to bring
On your first day, you will need to bring the following:
What to do
Please wear your formal uniform on your first day.
Please arrive at school by 8.00 am so your child has plenty of time to meet their teacher for the start of the school day.
School bell times are here.
- The first bell for Junior School goes at 8.25 am.
- The first bell for Middle & Senior School goes at 8.17 am.
You may need to allow time to find a park and walk in as well. School finishes at 2.40 pm for Junior School and 3.05 pm for Middle & Senior School.
Student collection for parents is at one of the various car parks at the school – Prep/Junior at the top car park or Middle/Senior lower car park. We suggest you familiarise yourself with the location of your child’s classroom and determine the closest car park.
If your child is catching a bus, these details, including the driver and pick up/drop off times, will be confirmed prior to the first day of travel by the Bus Operations Manager.
