Study Abroad

  • Uniforms

All study abroad students at Nambour Christian College are provided with essential items to help them feel prepared and part of our school community from day one.

    Uniform Inclusions:

Upon arrival, students will receive the following uniform items:

    • 2 sets of sports uniform (provided on loan for the duration of your stay)
    • 1 school jumper (provided on loan for the duration of your stay)
    • 1 pair of socks (provided free of charge)

These items ensure students can participate fully in school life and physical education activities with comfort and ease.

  • Laptop Provision

    Laptop Allocation (Years 7–12):

Students in Years 7 to 12 will also be issued a college laptop for academic use during their study experience. This device provides access to digital learning platforms, school resources, and classroom materials.

    Laptops (Year 3 – 6)

Students are provided access to a laptop during the school day for academic use as required.

  • Onboarding & Collection

Uniforms and laptops will be distributed during the student Onboarding Day, which is held prior to the student’s first day of school. Families have received instructions to book an onboarding appointment once the enrolment contract has been accepted and confirmed.

  • Classroom Essentials

To help your child settle in smoothly, we provide each Junior School study abroad student with a pencil case, stationery supplies, and an exercise book. These will be kept in the classroom for the duration of their visit and collected by the teacher when their study abroad experience concludes.

  • After-School Activities

In Australia, many younger students doing study abroad return home at the end of the school day for family time and local exploring. While we do not offer school-based after-school clubs for short-term Junior School students, we highly encourage families to use this time for:

    • Sightseeing and exploring the beautiful Sunshine Coast
    • Enjoying local beaches, walks, nature parks, or family outings
    • Participating in community activities through homestay families

Families can explore our Co-Curricular Program for reference, available through the Onboarding Website, to see the types of activities offered to long-term students in other year levels.

  • Food & Lunch Expectations

Please pack food for the following three breaks each school day:

    1. Brain Break (Mid-morning Junior School only): A small piece of fruit or vegetable
    2. Morning Tea
    3. Lunch

Food should be nut-free and packed in a clearly labelled lunchbox. We recommend including a frozen drink or small cooler block to keep lunches fresh during warmer months.

  • Tuckshop

The school has a Tuckshop where students can order hot food, sandwiches, and snacks. However, Junior School tuckshop orders must be placed by parents via the school’s app before 9:00 am on the day. Junior School students can purchase drinks, icy-poles and brownie/cupcakes with cash at morning tea and lunch.

For short-term study abroad students, Tuckshop access may not be practical unless arranged in advance. If you are interested in this option, please speak to your Homestay Coordinator or International Student staff to explore setup options during your stay.

For Middle and Senior School study abroad students, tuckshop purchases can be made at break times using a bank card or cash.

  • Returns at Completion

Before leaving NCC, students must ensure:

    • The laptop is returned to the IT Department on their final day
    • Uniform items are washed and returned to the Registrar within 48 hours of completing their study abroad experience

We appreciate your support in keeping these resources in excellent condition for future students.
