NCC provides a wealth of opportunities and allows your child to follow their passions.
There are a variety of co-curricular pursuits offered at NCC as well as learning enrichment opportunities. Many are included as part of the school fees.

Music
NCC has over 400 students involved in instrumental music tuition. In addition, the school offers a variety of opportunities in bands and ensembles. Music is available for students in P-12.

Sport
NCC offers a variety of sports to students in Junior, Middle and Senior School. There is a wide selection of (seasonal) sports to choose from, including Cricket, Tennis, Football (Soccer), Netball, Rugby 7s, Basketball and more including a variety of After School Sport Program.

Berakah Miniatures Show Team
The NCC Berakah Miniatures Show Team (BMST) is one of the College’s many exceptional co-curricular activities available to our students (from Year 7 and above). The team trains between 12-16 horses and competes in many local shows. Students learn not only how to take care of and train the horses but also how to work as a team and develop leadership and character-building skills difficult to obtain in a standard school setting.

Inside Out Theatre Company
The Junior Drama program is an after-school activity aimed at developing drama and theatre skills including focus, vocal dynamics, characterization, memorisation, self-control and confidence. We begin with drama games and activities throughout Term 1 and 2 and work towards a public performance of a play by Term 4. All students in Years 3 – 6 are invited to join.
- Commencing: Monday 10 February (Term 1, Week 3)
- Final lesson: Monday 20 October (Term 4, Week 3)
- Performance Date: Saturday 25 October
- Time: Monday afternoons, 3.00 – 4.00pm in Term 1 and 2 and 3.00-4.30pm Term 3 and 4
- Location: Junior School Music/Drama Room and Lecture Theatre
- Commitment: $450 to be paid on Flexischools (includes all weekly Monday sessions (approx 30 lessons), extra dress rehearsals, performances and most costume items)
- Pick up: Students will be walked over to the church car park for pick-up, promptly at 4pm/4.30pm

Meliora Enrichment Program (Years 7-9)
The Meliora Enrichment Program is available for Gifted and Talented students in Years 7, 8 and 9. Students are engaged in challenging and innovative project-based learning one lesson a week and have some extension days offsite across the year. Through diverse learning experiences designed to challenge and extend, we encourage these students to strive for excellence within a like-minded community of learners.
From 2024, Year 7 students will be invited to participate in the program based on achievement data, including the CAT4 Cognitive Abilities Test. For Year 7 students, Meliora will commence from Term 2.

Chess Club
The NCC Chess Club provides a fun and stimulating activity for NCC students from Years 2-12.
In Term 1 2025, the Nambour Christian College Chess Club runs on Thursday afternoons in the Secondary library, commencing Week 3 (Thursday 13 February) and ending in Week 10 (Thursday 3 April).
This year we will run 2 groups:
A “social chess” group:
- Session starts at 3.05pm and finishes at 3.45pm.
- Cost $25.00 for Term 1
- Sign up through the Parent Orbit app
- Meet in the L3 Lower classroom, accessed through the new side entrance due to the construction at the Library front entrance.
A “coached chess” group
- Session starts at 3.05pm and finishes at 4.30pm. From 3.30pm – 4.30pm these students will receive directed teaching / smaller group instruction in streamed groups with the assistance of an external Chess coach.
- Cost $75.00 for Term 1
- Sign up through the Parent Orbit app.
- Start in the L3 lower classroom, with the “social chess” group, and will then move to the L1 upper level classroom at 3.30pm.
Research has shown the tremendous benefits of playing chess. As a learning tool, chess can produce remarkable improvements in children’s academic performance. Chess is included in the curricula of thousands of schools worldwide.

Glee Club
Glee Club is an initiative of CAPA and IMP. It’s a high-energy performance group that incorporates song and dance. Year 7 to 12 students can register their interests and join the club. Commencing in Term 2, vocal training sessions are held on Thursday mornings before school, and choreography sessions are during lunchtimes on Mondays in G1.
This group will perform as often as possible at school events and in the Eisteddfod.
To register interest, students and/or parents can email Ms Judi Allen-Ankins here or come to rehearsals in G1 on Mondays, where they will be added to the roll.
Art Creatives – Years 2-7
Lessons will occur in Normanton House (Across the road from the Instrumental Music block), currently lessons are on a Wednesday at 2.40pm for a 3pm start and finish at 4.30pm (1.5 hours). Lessons go for seven weeks from weeks 3 – 9 of the term.
TUITION COST: $27 per week (Weeks 3-9) paid through Parent Orbit App (each term – $189)
Art Creatives Teachers: Anita Arnold (BA Arts – Visual Arts Major) and Sarah Lanham (BA Fine Arts)Please note that the minimum period of notice of withdrawal from Art Creatives lessons is four weeks before the end of term. It is not possible to withdraw after the commencement of the term.

Service and Cultural Trips
Nambour Christian College is committed to actively engaging and building meaningful relationships with rural and indigenous communities, as well as third-world countries and provides numerous opportunities for students to engage in service and cultural trips both within Australia and abroad, beginning as early as Year 8.
